Terms of Use
Last Updated: January 22, 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Form Recover browser extension (“Form Recover”, “the Extension”, “we”, “us”).
By installing or using Form Recover, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not install or use the Extension.
1. About Form Recover
Form Recover is a browser extension designed to reduce accidental data loss by locally saving and restoring text entered into web forms after events such as browser crashes, page refreshes, or session timeouts.
Form Recover is provided as an independent software tool and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google, Chrome, or any third-party websites where it operates.
2. Scope of Functionality
Core Functionality
By default, Form Recover:
- Operates locally within your browser
- Saves draft text to local storage
- Restores drafts only when you explicitly request it
The core recovery engine does not require an account, sign-in, or network connection.
Optional Features
Some optional or future features may:
- Require authentication (such as Google Sign-In)
- Allow optional integrations or user-configured storage backends
- Provide enhanced recovery, filtering, or synchronization tools
These features are opt-in and disabled by default. Core recovery remains available without them.
3. User Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Ensuring that Form Recover is suitable for your use case
- Maintaining the security of your device and browser
- Reviewing restored drafts before submitting them to any website
Form Recover is not a substitute for secure editors, backups, or proper data handling practices. You should not rely on Form Recover as the sole storage mechanism for highly sensitive, confidential, or legally protected information.
4. Limitations & Honest Boundaries
Form Recover is designed to reduce accidental data loss — not to guarantee data preservation under all circumstances.
Specifically:
- It may not work on websites that use non-standard input handling, canvas-based editors, or proprietary iframes
- It cannot protect against malware, compromised operating systems, or malicious browser extensions
- It does not guarantee recovery for every form, website, or interaction
By using Form Recover, you acknowledge and accept these limitations.
5. Data Handling & Privacy
Form Recover is built with a privacy-first design. Details about data handling, storage, and encryption are explained in the Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
In summary:
- Drafts are stored locally by default. Because Form Recover operates without centralized servers, the developer has no access to your drafts and cannot view, retrieve, or recover them on your behalf.
- Sensitive fields such as passwords and payment inputs are ignored by design.
- By using the Extension, you acknowledge that locally stored drafts may remain on your device until deleted, depending on your configuration.
Please review the Privacy Policy for full details.
6. No Warranty
Form Recover is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind.
We make no guarantees that:
- The Extension will meet all your requirements
- Draft recovery will always succeed
- The Extension will operate without interruption or errors
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
Form Recover and its developer shall not be liable for:
- Lost data or unrecovered drafts
- Business interruption or lost productivity
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Issues caused by third-party websites or browser changes
Your use of the Extension is at your own risk.
8. Changes & Updates
We may update Form Recover and these Terms from time to time to:
- Improve functionality
- Address security or compatibility issues
- Reflect changes in applicable laws
Because the Extension does not collect contact information by default, we cannot notify users directly of changes. Updated Terms will be posted on this page.
Continued use of Form Recover after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
9. Termination
You may stop using Form Recover at any time by uninstalling the Extension.
We reserve the right to suspend or discontinue the Extension (or parts of it) at any time, with or without notice, particularly if required for legal, security, or maintenance reasons.
10. Intellectual Property
Form Recover, including its code, design, and branding, is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You may not:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or redistribute the Extension
- Use the name or branding in a misleading way
- Resell or sublicense the Extension without permission
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the applicable laws of the developer’s jurisdiction, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
12. Contact
