Released: September 2026

A way back to text you saved but can no longer find.

✨ What’s New

Saved text you cannot reach is reachable again. Some reply boxes have nothing to identify them, so Form Recover remembers where they sit on the page instead. When the page changes shape between visits, a comment thread growing above the box, or the whole thread being rebuilt, that description stops matching. The text was always still saved. It just had an address nothing asked for any more.
A quiet grey marker now appears on those pages. Open it to read what was left behind and copy what you need.
And text from other pages of the same site. The marker also lists drafts you left on other pages of the site you are on, so you no longer have to open the extension and search for something you wrote an hour ago. Each one offers to open the page it came from, in a new tab, where the usual recovery icon is waiting.
The two are listed separately and labelled, because one is lost and the other is merely elsewhere.
Nothing is inserted for you, on purpose. Text like this has no obvious box to go back into. Putting it in the wrong one would be easy to miss and easy to send, so Form Recover shows it to you and lets you decide.
The list shows your own words, newest first, with a search once there is more than a handful, and the same lock as everywhere else: with a master password set, nothing opens until you unlock.

🔧 Fixed

Snapshots, still in beta, never actually saved. The page that crops them failed to start, silently, so the feature did nothing at all for anyone who turned it on. Text drafts were never affected.
With a master password set, the recovery icon showed a draft count for a fraction of a second before the padlock appeared. It shows the padlock straight away now.
Form Recover was watching its own search box. Nothing typed there was ever offered back to you, but it should never have been recorded in the first place.

🧩 For site owners

Any field marked id="fr-exceptional" or class="fr-exceptional" is left alone completely: not watched, not saved, no icon. The same way a password field is treated.

🔭 What’s Next

The underlying cause is not fixed yet. Form Recover can still lose track of a box on a page that changes shape, and the next release changes how boxes are identified so it stops happening.

That fix cannot rescue drafts already stranded, because the old address recorded how many things sat above the box on the day you typed, and nothing recorded that number. This release comes first so those drafts have a door before the lock changes.

Form Recover no longer stops protecting you when your vault fills up.

✨ What’s New

Your newest site is always protected. Previously, once drafts had been saved on 30 sites, the 31st was refused outright — anything you typed there was not kept at all. Now it is saved, and the site you have not visited in longest makes room for it.
Pin the sites that matter. Some forms are opened once a year and are the most painful to lose: a tax portal, a visa application, a scholarship form. Pin up to 10 sites from the All Vault tab and they are never replaced, however long you leave them.

🎯 Clearer, Calmer

The header now says what it is doing — “Protecting 19 sites” — instead of showing a counter that looked like a restriction.
The storage meter and the draft-history badge no longer turn red or amber when full. Nothing is wrong when they are full; older items are simply replaced.
The recovery icon shows its tooltip straight away, rather than only after your next save.

Form Recover still keeps drafts for 30 sites, 30 inputs per site, and 5 versions each.
Everything still stays on your device.

A plumbing release. There is nothing new to see — and that is the point.

🛠️ Reliability

Saves no longer fail quietly. An internal consistency check could, in rare states, report a save as successful without actually writing it. That path has been removed: a save now either completes, or tells you it did not.
Over-capacity sites repair themselves. If a single site had accumulated more saved inputs than it is allowed to hold, it would get stuck and stop accepting new drafts. It now trims itself back to the limit on the next save and carries on normally.

🔒 Unchanged

Storage limits are exactly as before: 30 sites, 30 inputs per site, 5 versions per input.
Nothing changed in the interface.
Everything still stays on your device.

A UX-focused update that makes navigating your saved vault faster, especially as your history grows.

All Vault Search & Filter: A search bar is now available in the All Vault tab, allowing you to quickly filter saved entries by site name or URL path.
Current Site — Quick Search: When the current site has more than 3 saved entries, a quick search bar automatically appears so you can find the right draft without scrolling.
